Having lunch
We headed off to the orphanage after lunch. I think our English lesson today would be one of our most impactful gifts for them. In our PowerPoint lessons, we taught them about fruits, clothing, animals, numbers, timing and basic conversations in English. Some time was also spent teaching them the right pronunciation. We also made them practice reading and memorization.
We were very misinformed about their English standards. Many already knew what we were teaching them. One of the girls was very shy about her verbal English and required a lot of coaxing before she started practicing. We found the children to be very smart - they adapt and learn at a very fast rate. After that, we played some educational games to reinforce their learning. Pictionary, matching words with pictures and an adapted Bingo. The kids were very excited and enjoyed themselves. The president of the orphanage gave a short speech to thank us and invited us to return.
